Village of Tinley Park issued the following announcement on Nov. 2.

Tinley Park recently ranked eighth on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Green Power Communities list. Tinley Park is using nearly 179 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power annually, which represents more than 78 percent of its total power needs. The Village's choice to use green power helps advance the voluntary market for green power and development of those sources. By moving the needle in the voluntary green power market, Tinley Park and other Green Power Partners are helping to reduce the negative health impacts of air emissions including those related to ozone, fine particles, acid rain, and regional haze.
