State House race: Republican Bernas wins voter tally in Cook County

Jillian Rose Bernas led Democrat Michelle Mussman in votes cast in Cook County for the District 56 state House race, according to the latest vote count.

Bernas appeared to outpace Mussman by a margin of 16.1 percent on Tuesday in the county.

In comparison, the 2014 winner, Democrat Michelle Mussman, won by a margin of 2.5 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Republican Jim Moynihan, who received 11,263 votes to Mussman's 11,831.
