Every month, we feature a provider as an opportunity for the community to learn more about the great people on staff at Little Company of Mary (LCM). This month, we had the chance to talk with Hina Chaudhry, M.D., rheumatologist with the LCM Medical Group (Mary Potter Pavilion, 2850 West 95th Street, Suite 301, Evergreen Park).

Why did you decide to become a physician?
Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to choose a career in which I could make a difference in people’s lives while being able to challenge myself consistently. I quickly realized that would be possible through a career in medicine.
How did you choose your specialty?
During my internal medicine residency, I was able to rotate through multiple sub-specialties. What attracted me to rheumatology was two things – First, I was intrigued by the complexity of the disease processes that affect multiple organ systems, which helps keep my diagnostic skills sharp. Additionally, I appreciate how I am able to form relationships with my patients given the chronicity of most of the diseases I treat.
What is your philosophy of care?
I want to provide the best and most up-to-date care for my patients through creating a partnership based on mutual trust.
What do you look forward to the most in working with the patients at LCM?
I look forward to getting to know the community better and the patients I serve.
What is the number one advice / tip you give your patients for healthy living?
I cannot stress enough the importance of exercise and healthy eating habits.
As a new physician with the LCM Medical Group, what have you noticed is the best thing Little Company of Mary has to offer patients?
What really stands out to me is the second-to-none dedication and personalized care that Little Company of Mary Medical Group physicians provide to each patient.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of the office?
I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with my family.
