Village of Orland Park issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.
Former Orland Park Village Trustee Donald Pekau, father of Mayor Keith Pekau, passed away on Monday, December 17.
Trustee Pekau served on the village board from 1969 until 1975 and was a member of the board when Orland Square came to Orland Park. He was a founding board member of the Orland Park Pioneers and the Orland Youth Association and coached for both organizations.
