Village of Homewood issued the following announcement on Jan. 1.
Have you always wanted to see if you could handle a dip in cold water like the polar plungers do? Well, now is your chance and to benefit the South Suburban Humane Society! If the 80-year-old Mayor of Homewood can lead the way into the icy water, you can too!
On January 12, join us for the Mayor's Arctic Dip on Martin Ave. The event begins with an animal-themed costume contest, then an arctic dip in the swimming pools that will be set up! After your dip, join us inside the Homewood Science Center for pizza and beverages sponsored by Sandrick Law Firm, Aurelio's Pizza, La Voute Bistro + Bar, and Tito's Handmade Vodka.
