Report: Palos spent $13,217 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Palos School District 118 is up 6.4 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $12,421 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $13,217 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1926 to 1988.

Palos's spending in 2017-18 was 0.9 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
