Report: Homewood spent $12,189 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Homewood School District 153 is up 2.6 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $11,882 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $12,189 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1901 to 2025.

Homewood's spending in 2017-18 was 8.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
