Report: Oak Lawn spent $20,410 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Oak Lawn Community High School District 229 is up 32.1 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $15,446 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $20,410 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1842 to 1838.

Oak Lawn's spending in 2017-18 was 53 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
