Report: Midlothian spent $10,976 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Midlothian School District 143 is up 16.5 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $9,424 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,976 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1882 to 1846.

Midlothian's spending in 2017-18 was 17.7 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
