Report: Kirby spent $12,094 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Kirby School District 140 is up 13.4 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $10,669 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $12,094 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3667 to 3585.

Kirby's spending in 2017-18 was 9.3 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
