Report: Bremen spent $16,745 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Bremen Community High School District 228 is up 16.4 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $14,385 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $16,745 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 5272 to 5089.

Bremen's spending in 2017-18 was 25.6 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
