Analysis: Rich administrators rank 285th in state for average pay

Administrators in Rich Township High School District 227 earn an average of $106,322 per year, ranking 285th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 7.3% higher than in 2014 and 5.6% lower than in 2009. District administrators make 0.9% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Cook County school district enrolled 3001 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 97 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
