Administrators in Prairie-Hills Elementary School District 144 earn an average of $85,444 per year, ranking 687th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 7.5% higher than in 2014 and 7.7% lower than in 2009. District administrators make 20.4% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Cook County school district enrolled 2769 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 126 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
