Village of Tinley Park issued the following announcement on March 19.
March is Severe Weather Preparedness Month in Illinois. To help people prepare for potentially dangerous weather, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) and the National Weather Service have developed a Severe Weather Preparedness Guide.
The guide will help people understand weather risks such as floods, tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and lightning, and provides tips for staying safe at home, in the car and at school. It also includes lists of suggested items for home and vehicle emergency supply kits.
