The price of local government in 2017: Village of Posen

The Village of Posen budget was $7.36 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $3,921 per household.

That's a decrease of 58.2 percent from 2016, when the village spent $17.58 million, or $9,369 per household.

Posen has 1,876 households and a population of 5,929.

Since 2001, the Village of Posen budget has grown by 32.7 percent, from $5.54 million. The village population has grown 25.3 percent over the same period, from 4,730.

Salaries accounted for 33.4 percent of village spending in 2017. Posen property taxpayers paid $2.46 million for 36 full-time employees and 52 part-time employees.

In 2001, the village had 25 full-time employees and 58 part-time employees, and spent $1.69 million.
