Steger (Cook County) home prices fall in the second quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2017 in Steger in Cook County fell by $47,000 while total sales increased by 15.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2017, there were 15 homes sold, with a median sale price of $85,500 - a 35.5% decrease over the $132,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 13 homes sold in Steger in the second quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Steger for 2017 was $1,662.83. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,668.10. This marks an decrease of 0.3%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.9%.
