Village of Alsip Village Committee met May 28.

A. Mayor Ryan

1) Request for approval of a Class 6b SER incentive for PC Marble, located at 5859 W. 117th Place.

2) Discussion for approval of new Committee assignments by Village Trustees.

3) Discussion regarding the Red Light Camera Enforcement contract expiring 7/29/19.

B. Clerk Petzel

1) Presentation of the April 2019 Motor Fuel Tax Allotment in the amount of $42,668.80.

2) Presentation and approval of the March 25th, 2019 Committee Meeting Minutes.

A. Finance, Trustee McLawhorn

1) List of payroll and accounts payable.

2) Request to approve the Village to seek competitive pricing for natural gas used at Village Properties.

B. Fire, Trustee McLawhorn

C. Police, Trustee Nava-Esparza

1) The Police Department held its annual Cop on Roof Top fundraiser Friday, May 17, 2019. A new department record was set having collected $16,600.00. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this year special.

2) The Police Department held an open house on Saturday, May 18th, 2019. There was about 25 people in attendance.

3) A new K-9 team has been selected. K-9 Knox and Officer Hayes have started their training at Landheim Training Facility in Dyer, IN. They are expected to be deployed to the street by July 2019.

4) Since April 10, 2019 when Smart 911 was launched we’ve had 483 people create safety profiles and 2,189 people register for Emergency Alerts.

D. Public Works and Boat Launch, Trustee Juarez

1) Request to approve an amendment to the Boat Launch Fees to match nearby communities having similar facilities on the Cal-Sag Channel: Season Pass $60.00, Daily Launch $10.00, Passenger Cars or Trucks not launching $2.00.

2) Request to approve staffing the Boat Launch from Thursday-Sunday with Public Works opening and closing the Pavilion Monday-Wednesday.

E. Building, Trustee Zielinski

F. Sewer and Water, Trustee Dalzell

1) Presentation by Water Commissioner Tryban and request for approval of a Water Main extension on the east side of Pulaski Avenue from 119th Street to 121st Street.

2) Request for approval of a professional services agreement with Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. for Inspection, Contract Bidding Documents, Preconstruction Services and Construction Observation of the Rehabilitation/Painting of two (2) 1.0 MG water tanks.

G. License, Trustee Juarez

1) Presentation of a list of licenses dated May 10th through May 24th, 2019.

H. Economic Development, Trustee Murphy

1) Presentation by Diliberto Real Estate Services regarding marketing strategy and contract approval for services regarding 11706-30 S. Pulaski property owned by the Village of Alsip.

1) Request for approval to pay an employee $1916.16 for 2 Floating Holidays that weren’t used while the employee was off on workmen’s compensation leave from 3/7/19-5/10/19. Also, the recent decision by the Village Board to not pay another employee seeking Floating Holiday pay from 2008, is being challenged by its union’s Stewart.

2) Discussion regarding the employee 457(b) Plan.

F. Health and Pollution, Trustee Murphy

1) On 5/22/19 South Cook County Mosquito Abatement District (SCCMAD) began spraying in Alsip. Due to recent rains, they will be spraying larvicide to standing water along Village parkways and open areas such as parks and vacant properties, to help prevent mosquitos.
