A note of interest – On Sunday, April 28th, we did an active shooter drill at the south campus of Palos Hospital. We worked with multiple jurisdictions during the drill and it was deemed an excellent training opportunity by all agencies.
Forrest Macinowski was sworn in on May 7th & will be attending the Chicago Metro Police Academy starting on May 13th
10. CORRESPONDENCE/EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
Sgt. Nagy was complimented and thanked by the management company from Colonial Heights. His patience and professionalism were much appreciated.
The Bureau of Investigations, particularly Detective Parnitzke made 3 arrests in a case of felony forgery and felony identity theft. A doctor in Palos Heights reported the theft in excess of $20,000.00. The offenders were part of a larger organization from other Chicagoland communities.
Officers Carlson & Birkmeier were commended on their concern and knowledge of interacting with a mentally ill subject.
Ofc. Carlson was commended on his compassion dealing with another mentally ill subject.
Ofcs. Apostal, Carlson & Pomper were complimented on their kindness and empathy towards a young man involved in a 1 car accident. His mother was very grateful.
Chief Miller from Palos Park Police sent Chief Yott a letter thanking Ofc. Evans & Detective Parnitzke for their efforts in assisting his officers locate a suicidal individual.
The store manager & pharmacist complimented the officers that responded to an incident at CVS. They were very impresses with the quick response and professionalism of the officers.
Seven officers have reached a milestone working for Palos Heights Police Department. (See attached).
Multiple awards of commendation and lifesaving awards were given to 7 officers. (See attached).
