Illinois General Assembly: HR371 actions on May 24

The following actions were taken on May 24 in the House on House bill HR371 ("perkins plan-wioa"): "Placed on Calendar Order of Resolutions" and "Recommends Be Adopted Higher Education Committee".

The bill, as it was introduced in the House by Rep. Fred Crespo (D-44) on May 9, "encourages the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois Community College Board, and the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to work collaboratively with each other and with school districts, community colleges, business and industry, and other organizations to ensure alignment among the Perkins and WIOA plans and priority occupational areas," according to the General Assembly website.

The following house representatives also co-sponsored the bill: Mark Batinick (R-97), Kelly M. Burke (D-36), Elizabeth Hernandez (D-24) and Katie Stuart (D-112).
