U.S. Representative Dan Lipinski (IL-3) issued the following announcement on June 28.
“Yesterday, I voted for the bipartisan Senate bill to approve funding to address the emergency at our southern border. We’ve all seen and heard about some of the horrors at the border as an unprecedented number of immigrants have sought to enter our country with most seeking asylum status. Some of the conditions are atrocious, especially for the children. The Senate bill is not perfect, but it passed with an overwhelming majority: 84-8. We cannot demand perfect when there is no time to wait and more resources are needed immediately.”
