Little Company Of Mary Hospital issued the following announcement on June 27.
Little Company of Mary Hospital (LCMH) has been re-accredited as a Comprehensive Bariatric Center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBCAQIP).
This program accredits inpatient and outpatient bariatric surgery centers in the United States and Canada who have undergone an independent, voluntary, and rigorous peer evaluation in accordance with nationally recognized bariatric surgical standards. Bariatric surgery accreditation not only promotes uniform standard benchmarks, but also supports continuous quality improvement.
MBSAQIP accreditation is important because it provides an objective and measurable means in which a center can demonstrate that it offers high-quality care in a multidisciplinary format. The personnel and infrastructure required to attain accreditation provide pathways for high-quality operations and support efforts inherent to patient safety and excellent clinical outcomes.
The Little Company of Mary Bariatric Surgery Center offers Bariatric Surgery in association with Rush University Medical Center. The Bariatric Surgery Center is dedicated to safely and effectively treating patients who are chronically 100 pounds or more over their ideal body weight and offers a complete team of specialists from surgeons to a support staff including nutritionists, psychologists and more to provide new answers and options for overcoming obesity.
In addition to MBSAQIP accreditation, LCMH was named this year as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Bariatric Surgery by the Women’s Choice Award. With comprehensive consultation, counseling, support and long-term follow-up, our team brings their expertise together to give you the best options in one place.
