The data shows that 138 men and 13 women were released in the Harvey zip code. Of the parolees, two were veterans, and the median age was 37. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2012.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Maurice Dupree. He was convicted of homicide in 1999, when he was 24 years old. He is now 45.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
