Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees in Cook County convicted of financial crimes or fraud

There were 129 offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud released on parole in Cook County during the first quarter of 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the South Cook News.

The data shows that 120 men and nine women were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for financial crimes or fraud, two were veterans, and the median age was 38. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 62-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Antonio Davis. He was convicted in 2015 when he was 35 years old. He is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud were paroled during the first quarter of 2019 in each Illinois county.
