VILLAGE OF FLOSSMOOR: Fall Share-the-Cost Tree Program

Fallentree

Village of Flossmoor issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.

Qualified spaces across Flossmoor have been identified as ideal locations to plant a tree for this year's share-the-cost tree program. Residents with qualifying parkways have been notified, but if you believe you have space for a new tree in your parkway, please contact Flossmoor Public Works. In order to qualify, parkways must have enough spacing between trees and be clear of overhead utilities. The recommended spacing for large trees is a minimum of 30 feet between trees. For small trees, the recommended spacing is a minimum of 15 feet between trees. Small trees are better options for restricted locations, such as locations near powerlines or under large trees. The only small tree available for the fall tree planting program is the Canada Serviceberry. For more information contact Flossmoor Public Works at (708) 957-4100.

For properties that qualify for the Fall Share-the-Cost tree planting program, the application can be found online. Orders are due September 18, 2019.
