City of Burbank City Council met Sept. 11.

]ALL TO ORDER
The meeting of September 11,2019 was called to order at7:30 PM by Mayor Dan M, Foy in the Council Chambers at 6530 West 79th Street Burbank. IL.
ROLL CALL
Mayor Foy requested a roll call which indicated the following members present: Alderman Robert Contreras, Alderwoman Sheri Gustafson, Alderman James Grider, Alderman John Pacella, Alderman Mitchell Piznarski, Alderman Jason Pyle, Mayor Dan M. Foy, Clerk Barry J. Srymczak, Treasurer Dean Viverito and City Attorney Gary Perlman. Absent: Alderwoman Barb Gagle.
DEPT. OF ADMINISTRATION
Mayor Foy asked for a moment of silence in honor of the civilians and first responders who lost their lives i 8 years ago today in the terrorist attacks on New.York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Foy asked all to rise for the pledge of Allegiance.
JOURNAL
Alderman Contreras made a motion seconded by Alderwoman Gustafson to approve the minutes of August 21,2019. The motion was unanimously approved by voice vote and so declared by the Chair.
CURRENT BILLS
Alderman Grider made a motion seconded by Aldernran Pacella to approve the current list of bills.
A roll call indicated 6 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderman Contreras. Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Grider. Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.
DEPT. OF ZONING
Alderman Robert Contreras made a motion seconded by Alderwoman Gustafson to adopt Ordinance # 4l-9-19 Banesa Chavez 8200 South Lamon Burbank, IL, requesting a variation to install a 6, privacy fence on front yard side set back. A roll call indicated 6 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Grider. Alderman Pacella. Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle,
Alderman Contreras then made a motion seconded by Alderman Pvle to adopt Ordinance # 41-9-19 Tuong Ho 7800 South Nashville Burbank, IL. requesting a variation to install a 6' privacy fence on front yard side set back. A roil call indicated 6 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Grider, Alderman Pacella. Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.
DEPT. OF ADMINISTRATION
Mayor Foy asked for a motion to adopt a proclamation declaring September 16, Z0l9 as American Legion Day' The motion was made by Alderwoman Gustafson and seconded by Alderman Pyle. A roll call indicated 6 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Grider, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.
Mayor Foy then asked for a motion to adopt Ordinance 43-9-19 amending Chapter 14, Taxes, by adding Article IX, Cannabis, Retailers' Occupation Tax, of the Burbank Municipal Code. The motion was made by Alderman Piznarski and seconded by Alderman Pacella. A roll call indicated 6 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Grider. Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pvle.
NEW BUSINESS
Alderman Robert Contreras reported that committee has been formed to oversee the 50th anniversary of the city of Burbank. The weekend celebration is scheduled for the end of June 2020 and will be in conjunction with the Burbank Park District's annual4th of July celebration. It will consist of carnival attractions, entertainment and food vendors. More information will be upcoming.
CITIZEN'S REPORT
The Chair recognized Jackie Wilkosz 8145 State Road who inquired about the TIF District set up for the Old Barn Redevelopment Project Area. Attorney Gary Ferlman explained the workings of the TIF District and Mayor Foy commented on how it would be more beneficial for the City to keep the area zoned Commercial.
FIRE DEPARTMENT
Chief Dave Gilgenberg II reported that the Fire Department recently received a grant from the County enabling the City to receive 5 sets of ballistic gear for paramedics and firefighters in the event of any type of terrorist or active shooter, situations.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
Chief Richard Shore informed the audience that a suspect has been detained in the investigation of the sexual assault of a student from St. Laurence High School which occurred on September 9th, 2019 in the area of t 79th & Central.
DEPT. OF ADMINISTRATION
Mayor Foy then asked any Reavis High School students who need their government class forms signed to approach any of the City Officials at the adjourment of the Council meeting.
MOTION TO ADJOURN
There being no further business, the Chair asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Alderwoman Gustafson and seconded by Alderman Pacella with unanimous voice approval and so declared by the Chair
