Village of Tinley Park issued the following announcement on Nov. 8.
The Tinley Park Police Department, 7850 W. 183rd St., is a 2019 drop-off location for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation. The program distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas and delivers a message of hope to less-fortunate youngsters. Toys are being collected now through Dec. 7.
All donated toys must be new and in the original sealed package (no used toys). Please don’t donate stuffed animals due to dust and allergy concerns, and please make sure all donations are unwrapped for safety reasons.
