Village of Tinley Park issued the following announcement on Nov. 13.
The Village of Tinley Park recently received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its annual budget for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2019. This award is administered by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting.
In order to achieve this award, a governmental unit must satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for an effective budget presentation. The budget document must meet program criteria as a policy document, as a financial plan, as an operations guide and as a communications device.
“This award reflects the commitment of Tinley Park staff in meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting,” GFOA officials said in a letter to the Village.
