Village of Tinley Park issued the following announcement on Nov. 22.
Winter storms can bring everything from extreme cold and freezing rain to ice, snow and high winds. Sometimes, it’s even a combination of all these conditions.
To help residents deal with potential dangers related to winter weather, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency has again issued its annual Winter Storm Preparedness Guide (included below). Planning and preparing can make a big difference in safety and resiliency in the wake of a winter storm.
The ability to maintain or quickly recover following a winter storm requires a focus on preparedness, advanced planning and knowing what to do in the event of a winter storm.
