City of Burbank City Council met Oct. 23.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Call to Order

The meeting of October 23, 2019 was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Dan M. Foy in the Council Chambers at 6530 West 79th Street Burbank, IL.

Roll Call

Mayor Foy requested a roll call which indicated the following members present: Alderwoman Bard Gagle, Alderman Robert Contreras, Alderwoman Sheri Gustafson, Alderman John Pacella, Alderman Mitchell Piznarski, Alderman Jason Pyle, Mayor Dan M. Foy, Clerk Barry J. Szymczak, Treasurer Dean Viverito and City Attorney Vince Cainkar. Absent: Alderman James Grider.

Pledge of Allegiance

Mayor Foy asked all to rise for the Pledge of Allegiance

Journal

Alderman Contreras made a motion seconded by Alderman Pacella to approve the minutes of October 9, 2019. The motion was unanimously approved by voice vote and so declared by the Chair.

Current Bills

Alderman Contreras made a motion seconded by Alderman Piznarski to approve the current list of bills. A roll call indicated 6 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.

Clerk’s Report

Clerk Szymczak reported that City Hall would be closed on Monday November 11, 2019 in commemoration of Veteran’s Day

Dept. of Finance

Alderman Pyle made a motion seconded by Alderwoman Gagle to adopt Ordinance $46-10-19 approving the Burbank Station Redevelopment Project Area Redevelopment Project and Plan in the City of Burbank, Cook County, Illinois. A roll call indicated 6 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle, Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.

Alderman Pyle then made a motion seconded by Alderwoman Gagle to adopt Ordinance #47-10-19 designating the Burbank Station Redevelopment Project Area in the City of Burbank, Cook County, Illinois. A roll call indicated 6 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle, Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.

Alderman Pyle then made a motion seconded by Alderwoman Gagle to adopt Ordinance #48-10-19 adopting tax increment allocation financing for the Burbank Station Redevelopment Project Area in the City of Burbank, Cook County, Illinois. A roll call indicated 6 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle, Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.

Dept. of Administration

Mayor Foy introduced a representative from the McDonald’s Construction Project on west 79th Street who have the City Council and audience an updated on the progress of the construction. Neighbors are invited to view the new facility on November 18th. Administration officials will be invited to a ribbon cutting and refreshments on November 22nd @ 10 a.m. Fund raising and promotion activities will be held through the month of December. A raffle of 4 Chicago Blackhawk Tickets was held by the representative during the presentation for Council and audience members to participate. Alderman Jason Pyle was the lucky winner of the tickets.

Police Department

Chief Richard Shore informed the audience that through the cooperation of the management of McDonalds, the City would be able to utilize locations on their premises for future use of cameras to scan the are of 79th Street.

Chief Shore also reported that a bank robbery occurred on Monday October 21st approximately 10 a.m. at the bank located inside of Jewel Foods at 7910 South Cicero Ave. With the help of security cameras in the store and red-light cameras in the area, the offender was taken into custody within a few hours.

New Business

Alderman Contreras reminded City Council and the audience of the Midway Noise Abatement Meeting which will be held on Thursday October 24th @ 6:30 p.m. at Mayfield Banquets in Chicago.

Mayor Foy then asked any Reavis High School students who need their government class forms signed to approach any of the City Officials at the adjournment of the Council meeting.

Motion to Adjourn

There being no further business, the Chair asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Alderman Contreras and seconded by Alderman Pyle with unanimous voice approval and so declared by the Chair.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
