Village of Tinley Park issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.
The Kowalczyk family of Tinley Park recently won ABC 7’s 2019 Great Chicago Light Fight competition. The family’s display includes more than 150,000 lights synced to 25 Christmas songs, the newest addition being a light-up dance floor in the driveway.
Thousands voted in the competition, which featured five other finalists from Monee, Elmhurst, Mokena, Channahon and Joliet.
Dominic Kowalczyk has created a “Winter Wonderland” in his front yard every December since 1990. This year, the Kowalczyks used the popularity of their display for a good cause, setting up several donations boxes along the display to benefit Together We Cope, a homeless prevention agency located in Tinley Park.
