Meet Dr. Matthew Atienza – He is a medical director of adult inpatient psychiatry at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Dr. Atienza has been with the department since completing his residency and recently celebrated his third anniversary at Advocate. “I went into medical school with expectations of going into family medicine, but once we began covering behavioral health topics it quickly became clear I had a passion for it,” says Dr. Atienza. Dr. Atienza sees patients in the psychiatric inpatient setting, as a psychiatric consult for medically admitted patients and at the Adult Day Hospital PHP/IOP program. “Everywhere I go in this hospital I find people who are passionate about providing great care for our patients.” #AdvocateAurora
