Arbor Park School District 145 Board of Education met March 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

1. Call to Order. At 7:06 p.m. President Mrs. Moslander called the Regular Meeting of the Board of Education, Arbor Park School District 145, Cook County, Illinois to order and led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.

2. Roll Call. Board members present Mr. Rana, Mr. Werner, Mrs. Ing, Mrs. Lux, Mr. Pepe and Mrs. Moslander. Absent Mrs. Bear

Others present: Dr. Andrea Sala, Superintendent, Dr. Brian O'Keeffe, Asst. Superintendent of Finance/CSBO and Mrs. Sherry Esparza, recording secretary.

5. Approval of Minutes.

a. Committee Meeting Minutes of February 12, 2020. Mr. Rana made the motion and Mrs. Lux seconded to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes of February 12, 2020. The voice vote was: Ayes: 5, Nays: 0, Mr. Werner abstained. The President declared the motion carried.

b. Closed Session Meeting Minutes of February 12, 2020. Mr. Pepe made the motion and Mrs. Lux seconded to approve the Closed Session Meeting Minutes of February 12, 2020. The voice vote was: Ayes: 5, Nays: 0, Mr. Werner abstained. The President declared the motion carried.

c. Regular Meeting Minutes of February 26, 2020. Mrs. Lux made the motion and Mr. Werner seconded to approve the Closed Session Meeting Minutes of February 26, 2020. The voice vote was: Ayes: 6, Nays: 0 The President declared the motion carried.

d. Closed Session Meeting Minutes of February 26, 2020. Mr. Werner made the motion and Mr. Rana seconded to approve the Closed Session Meeting Minutes of February 26, 2020. The voice vote was: Ayes: 6, Nays: 0 The President declared the motion carried.

6. Financial Report of the Assistant Superintendent of Finance/CSBO

*a. Ratify the February 28, 2020 and March 13, 2020 Accounts Payable Disbursement Journals. Approve the March 31, 2020 Disbursement Journal.

*b. Ratify the February 28, 2020 and March 13, 2020 District Payrolls. Approve the March 27, 2020 District Payroll.

*c. Subject to review of the Board at the next regular meeting, The Board will be asked to approve the payment of the following:

1. Recurring expenses, including but not limited to items such as utilities, employee benefits, professional services, supplies, and expenditures related to state and federal grants, for which nonpayment before the next regular Board meeting will result in the assessment of a late payment penalty and/or interest; and

2. The April 2020 District employee payrolls, as determined based on existing teacher and employee contracts, and verified hours worked by the end of the applicable pay period.

*d. Acceptance of the Statement of Position for the Month Ending: February 29, 2020. The roll call vote was: Ayes: Mr. Rana, Mr. Werner, Mr. Pepe, Mrs. Lux and Mrs. Moslander. Mrs. Bear was absent. The President declared the motion carried.

e. Acceptance of the Bremen Township Treasurer’s Office Expenses for the 2019/20 Fiscal Year. Approval to pay Arbor Park School District 145’s allocation of expenses in March 2020 and May 2020. Mrs. Lux made the motion and Mr. Werner seconded to accept the Bremen Township Treasurer’s Office Expenses for the 2019/20 Fiscal Year. f. Acceptance of the Bremen Township Treasurer’s Office Interest Earnings for the period of January 1, 2019 through June 30, 2019. Approval to deposit Arbor Park School District 145’s allocation in March 2020. Approval to sell Arbor Park School District 145 end-of-life desktops, laptops, tablets and other identified technology to Active Resource Company of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin as described in the March 2, 2020 Asset Panda Report. Mr. Rana made the motion and Mr. Werner seconded to approve to sell Arbor Park School District 145 end-of-life desktops, laptops, tablets and other identified technology to Active Resource Company of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin as described in the March 2, 2020 Asset Panda Report. h. Acceptance of an offer of $1,050 from Active Resource Company of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin for Arbor Park SD 145 end-of-life desktops, laptops, tablets and other identified technology as described in the March 2, 2020 Asset Panda Report. Mr. Pepe made the motion and Mrs. Lux seconded to accept the January 30, 2020 Roof Replacement Bid Withdrawal Letter from Sterling Commercial Roofing Inc. and reject all 2020 Roof Replacement Bids submitted to Arbor Park School District 145 on January 29, 2020. j. Acceptance of the March 2, 2020 Arbor Park School District 145 Roof Replacement Rebid submission from Metalmaster Roofmaster Inc. of McHenry, Illinois. Mr. Werner made the motion and Mr. Rana seconded to approve and accept the March 2, 2020 Arbor Park School District 145 Roof Replacement Rebid submission from Metalmaster Roofmaster Inc. of McHenry, Illinois. k. Approval of the Arbor Park School District 145 2020 Roof Replacement contract for the installation of a metal roof as defined in the SD145 2020 Roof Replacement Rebid issued by Green Associates, with Metalmaster Roofmaster Inc. of McHenry, Illinois, in the amount of $1,448,590.00.

Approval of a 12-Month contract between Arbor Park School District 145 and Vanguard Energy Services, LLC of Naperville, Illinois for the supply of natural gas to all District facilities from July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021. Mr. Pepe made the motion and Mr. Rana seconded to accept and approve a 12-Month contract between Arbor Park School District 145 and Vanguard Energy Services, LLC of Naperville, Illinois for the supply of natural gas to all District facilities from July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021. 7. Closed Session. At 8:12 p.m. Mrs. Ing made the motion and Mrs. Lux seconded to enter closed session to discuss matters of appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District. At 10:19 p.m. Mrs. Ing made the motion and Mrs. Lux seconded to return to open session.

8. Report of the Superintendent of Schools.

Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, it was moved by Mr. Pepe seconded by Mr. Rana, to approve/ratify the following personnel items as presented.

Mr. Rana made the motion and Mr. Werner seconded to approve the Resolution for Non-Renewal of Specific Employees. The roll call vote was: Ayes: Mr. Rana, Mr. Werner, Mr. Pepe, Mrs. Lux and Mrs. Moslander. Mrs. Bear was absent. The President declared the motion carried.

c. Approval of Resolution to Adopt e-Learning Program in Lieu of Emergency and Act of God Days. Mr. Pepe made the motion and Mrs. Lux seconded to adopt the Resolution for e-Learning Program in Lieu of Emergency and Act of God Days.
