Analysis: Tinley Park pays $2.59 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Tinley Park Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 72.1 percent of the $4,242,615 the Tinley Park Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.59 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Tinley Park contributed $3,061,031 to the fund, which saw a $792,075 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $1,181,122, or 27.8 percent, in 2018. Another $462 came from other unspecified sources.
