Analysis: Riverdale pays $1.35 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Riverdale Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 57 percent of the $243,653 the Riverdale Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $1.35 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Riverdale contributed $138,868 to the fund, which saw a $3,246 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $102,857, or 42.2 percent, in 2018. Another $1,928 came from other unspecified sources.
