Analysis: Markham pays $3.70 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Markham Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78.8 percent of the $1,214,512 the Markham Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.70 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Markham contributed $957,445 to the fund, which saw a $41,911 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $258,484, or 21.3 percent, in 2018.
