Analysis: Homewood pays $3.37 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Homewood Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 76.9 percent of the $699,175 the Homewood Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.37 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Homewood contributed $537,675 to the fund, which saw a $16,944 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $159,466, or 22.8 percent, in 2018. Another $2,034 came from other unspecified sources.
