Analysis: Hazel Crest pays $4.37 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Hazel Crest Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 81.3 percent of the $1,154,259 the Hazel Crest Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.37 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Hazel Crest contributed $937,894 to the fund, which saw a $85,634 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $214,538, or 18.6 percent, in 2018. Another $1,827 came from other unspecified sources.
