Analysis: Burbank pays $3.68 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Burbank Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78.9 percent of the $1,092,874 the Burbank Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.68 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Burbank contributed $861,909 to the fund, which saw a $418,495 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $234,056, or 21.4 percent, in 2018.
