Analysis: Alsip pays $7.88 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Alsip Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.7 percent of the $3,017,280 the Alsip Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $7.88 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Alsip contributed $2,677,597 to the fund, which saw a $41,873 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $339,682, or 11.3 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
