VILLAGE OF TINLEY PARK: Music in the Plaza returns Aug. 15

Concert

Village of Tinley Park issued the following announcement on July 24.

Listening to Spotify or iTunes is great and all, but nothing beats a live band. If you’ve been yearning for live music these past several months, yearn no longer! The Village’s Music in the Plaza concert series will return when the Walk-Ins take the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 at Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event attendance will be limited. There will be multiple zones chalked off throughout Zabrocki Plaza containing a maximum of 50 people in each zone. Participants will be required to stay within their designated zone during the concert unless using the restroom or leaving the event. The good news is, if you can't make it, you'll still be able to watch a livestream of the concert from the comfort of your own home on the Village's Facebook page.

In addition to these social distancing measures, concertgoers will be required to wear face coverings when moving about the event and in line for the event, and everyone will be asked to stay in their assigned group for the duration of the event. While not typical, these measures are the best way for the Village to adhere to the state's requirements and protect everyone's health while still delivering a top-notch outdoor concert.

Only Tinley Park residents can reserve tickets, which go on sale Aug. 1 and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. While each attendee must have a ticket, the entire party does not need to be residents, only the one reserving tickets. Check-in will begin at 6 p.m.

Mark your calendar for what's sure to be a rockin' good time!
