Keeping with measures taken by the city of Chicago, Cook County recently issued a requirement for those traveling to the area from 17 other states to quarantine for two weeks upon arriving in the county.
The states listed in the directive from the Cook County Department of Public Health are the same as those named in the Chicago directive, a release issued on NBC 5 Chicago said.
States on the list are Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Iowa and Oklahoma.
“It is summer and we know people want to travel, but we have to remain vigilant to keep our gains and avoid having to close places we’ve only just reopened,” Dr. Rachel Rubin, the County Department of Public Health co-lead and senior medical officer, was quoted by NBC 5.
The list of states is to be updated every Tuesday.
