Hometown FPD responds to 35 fires in 2018

Hometown Fire Protection District responded to 65 calls in 2018 - 42 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Hometown included 35 fires - 28 structure fires, one vehicle fire and six other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

The department also received 27 false calls.

The Hometown Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $646,080 in 2016.
