Village of Tinley Park issued the following announcement on Sept. 25.
Usually, the sight of tombstones and half-buried skeletons in your front yard would likely prompt your neighbors to make a frenzied call to the police department. Luckily, Halloween is just around the corner, and all of your ghoulish decorations are no biggie. In fact, they could even win you a $100 gift card to the Tinley Park business of your choice and neighborhood bragging rights!
Out-BOO your neighbors by taking part in the Village of Tinley Park’s first-ever Halloween House Decorating Contest now through Oct. 16. Houses will be judged in three categories: Scariest House, Best Overall Theme and Best Special Effects. Entries will be judged from the street (judges will not enter private property) from Oct. 19 to 22, and winners will be announced Oct. 23. Lights, animations and decorations must be activated during judging.
To participate, visit TinleyPark.org/HauntedContest and fill out the entry form. When you’re done, hit the “submit” button on the bottom to send it off to the Village. Please email any questions to mktg@tinleypark.org.
