Village of Chicago Ridge issued the following announcement on Apr. 9.
On Thursday, April 8th, I was very pleased to be asked to attend the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for the new Ascend Wellness, which was previously occupied by Pier One Imports. Trustees Jack Lind and Roger Meslar were also in attendance for this event. Residents should understand that while Ascend’s primary business is the sale of medical and recreational cannabis, it also sells many other products which are considered to be more related to sleep aid and pain relief medications. Of course, Ascend has done a very nice job in remodeling both the interior and exterior of its’ building, including installing over 80 security cameras on site. More importantly, Ascend is expected to provide a substantial revenue stream to the Village, which helps keep our property taxes as low as possible.
