Coming into the boys golf season, head coach Pat Mayer knew he had a strong senior class and a very deep roster. Last week at the South Suburban Conference meet, the seniors stepped up to lead the way for a third-place finish.
Senior Bobby Crosby earned all-conference honors for the second time in his high school career to top the list of Spartan golfers. Fellow seniors Dillon Siert, Luke Fritz, Domas Rasymas and Colin Duggan all shot well in the effort too.
“I was very impressed with the team’s consistency,” Mayer said. “We had a large roster, and I would say that every golfer improved over the course of the season. Coach Shawn Neubauer was awarded the Junior Varsity SSC Coach of the Year Award, and that was a big reason for the team’s success.”
Oak Lawn’s varsity team finished the regular season with a record of 10-5. The Junior Varsity team posted a mark of 9-5. Varsity will compete in the Illinois High School Association Regional Meet today at Silver Lake.
