City of Palos Heights Public Arts Commission met July 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

I. Meeting of the Public Arts Commission call to order held via Facetime at 7:08p.m.

Present were Maria DeCaprio‐Sunta , Vanessa Sunta, Lynda Schiappa and Kathy Peters.

II. Approval of Minutes

a. Motion to approve February minutes by Maria DeCaprio‐Sunta, 2nd by Vanessa Sunta

III. Old Buisness

a. Treasures of Palos –Ann Farley Gaines signed the HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT required by the City. She arrived July 9th and worked for ten hours to complete the repairs to satisfaction. The invoice was submitted.

b. Holiday Lights‐ Artistic Holiday Designs by Steve Smith provided a proposal. On July 7th Maria and Lynda presented the concept to the Mayor who approved the concept and funds in the following support.

* City ‐ $5,000.00

* PAC ‐ $5,000.00

* Sponsor (tbconfirmed) ‐ $5,000.00

+ a 3year contract

The Building & Grounds Committee will need to approve final design.

c. Fall Festival Pop‐up Art Gallery – Kathy Peters provided an outline and mission statement as to what this event could look like. 1st a property needs to be identified. Lynda volunteered to research Heaven Sent vacant space. Maria to speak to Michael Coogan vacant property as a Plan B.

IV. New Business –N/A

VI. Request to adjourn meeting by Lynda Schiappa, so moved by Kathy Peters, and seconded by Maria DeCaprio‐ Sunta. All in favor.

Meeting adjourned at 8:00pm.
