Although this is only Davion Lawrence’s first year playing football at Oak Lawn Community High School, he is showing the ability to excel in every aspect of the game. He anchors the defensive line, he plays wide receiver on offense, and he serves as the team’s kicker. Simply put, Lawrence does it all.
The senior has recorded multiple sacks on defense, grabbed some huge catches in big situations on offense, and contributes on special teams by kicking extra points and delivering near-perfect onside kicks. His all-around excellence has played a major role in the team’s 4-4 record thus far.
“Davion Lawrence is a force all over the field for the Oak Lawn football team,” said head coach Ryan Pattison. “Although Davion is playing football for the first time, he is getting noticed by many local colleges.”
Friday night, the Spartans are playing for their playoff lives at home at 7:00 p.m. This could be a senior night to remember for a long time if they can earn a playoff berth.
