REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS
Office of the Mayor
Mayor Kevin M. Casey stated we have special guests here tonight, Amanda Ostrowitz who represents the group that is purchasing the Advocate Building to make it a Recreational Cannabis Distribution Center. Amanda has dealt with banks for months trying to get this deal done. This will bring revenue to our town as well as the Shopping Plaza and added security. The state mandates on these facilities are tedious and extreme, the company will work hand and hand with our Police Department and are required to have their own security in place. This will bring new jobs to Hometown. Mayor Casey stated many Mayors have been trying to bring this to their municipality for the revenue and we are lucky to be the municipality picked by this company. Mayor Casey stated the build out to get the business up and running will be two million, Ghosien’s has been sold, the Car Wash will be putting six million into the corner property, Go Puff is working on their property to open soon and the Co-op is doing a 5-million-dollar roof and siding project. There is a large amount of money being invested in our town with major upgrades to properties. Financially we are doing well considering we had 2 years of a pandemic. The Archdiocese has settled with the two homeowners so that sale is moving forward with the doctor still 100% on board. Things are looking good for the town.
