Village of East Hazel Crest Board met Nov. 10.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Officials: Mayor Thomas A. Brown, Administrator Lazuka and Clerk Minnis

Roll Call: Trustees Forte, Keams, Ewan, Wideman and Ortiz were present; Tr. Johnson was absent.

Also present: PW Brian King,m PD Chief Janich, FD Dpt. Chief Mills, J. Hale, C. Cook, S. Slobowski, L,Dutka, M. Fernandez, J. Murry, S.Connelly, J. Toles.

Invocation & Pledge. Silent invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Minutes: Trustees Wideman and Ewan made the motions to approve the minutes of the 10/27 /21 regular meeting. All trustees present were in favor. Mtn .carried.

Reports of Village Officials:

Mayor's Report: 1) Consideration/Disposition of 172nd St. Ditch Project. After a brief discussion, Trustees Keams and Ortiz made the motions to postpone the 172nd St. Project for now and to re-consider it in the Spring of 2022. Roll Call: all trustees present voted aye; Tr. Johnson was absent. Mtn. carried.

2) Water Update: Mayor Brown gave a WATER update. Bottom line: we\re still getting add'l. information on an alternate source for Lake Michigan water instead of buying it thru the City of Harvey.

Administrator's Report: Consideration for Office Hours re: upcoming Holidays: Nov. 25 & Jan. 1st. After a brief discussion, Trustees Ewan and Wideman made the motions to cancel the 11/24 and Dec. 22nd meetings. All trustees present were in favor; Tr. Johnson was absent. Mtn. carried.

Clerk: 2022 vehicle tags will go on sale December l ". Officials were asked to inform the Clerk if information on your vehicle has changed.

OPEN TO VISITORS:

Trustees Keams & Ortiz made the motions to open this segment of the meeting to the public. All trustees present were in favor. Mtn. carried. Time: 7: 17 pm S. Sloowski made an inquiry of the status of the CASINO. He also asked about the culvert repairs. Mayor Brown responded about the CASINO and then said he'd be contacted about the $2200.00 repair bill.

L. Dutka inquired about installing 'flashing' stop signs at 175th & Center. He also said he felt it was the homeowner's responsibility to trim/or remove trees.

J. Toles of 1307 W. 171 st St. has been operating without a business license. He was informed he had 30 days to cease repairing vehicles and to remove cars and truck from the premises.

There being no other input from those present, Trustees Ortiz and Wideman made the motions to close this segment of the meeting to the public. All trustees present were in favor; Tr. Johnson was absent.. Mtn. carried. Time: 7:26 pm

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Streets: Tr. Forte had nothing to report.

SIGNS: Tr. Keams had nothing to repoirt

Finance/License: In the absence of Trustee Johnson, Trustee Keams made the motions to approve all Bills on the 11/10/21 Claims Sheets in the amount of $51,986.56; seconded by Tr. Ortiz. Roll Call: All trustees present voted aye; Tr. Johnson was absent, Mtn. carried.,

HEALTH/SAFETY/PERSONNEL; Tr. Ewan .had nothing to report.

WATER/SEWERS; R.. Wideman had nothing to report.

POLICE/FIRE: Tr. Ortiz read the EHCFD reports for the months of September and October, 2021 AND the EH CPD report of activities for the month of October, 2021. These reports will be on file in the Clerk's office.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: none

NEW BUSINESS: none

Announcements: Tr. Forte said the next meeting of the EHC Library Board will be on December 6th. She spoke of the \passing' of Library Board member G. Biedzycki.

Tr.Wideman spoke of the need for a 'flashing light' at 173rd & Dixie Highway. This location is under the jurisdiction of the IDPH. This matter will be brought to the attention of the IL State Dept. of Highways for their consideration.

Deputy Chief Mills said on Dec. 17th the EHCVD will hold their annual HOLIDAY PARADE throughout the Village.

Adjournment: Trustees Ewan and Ortiz the motions to adjourn. All trustees present were in favor; Tr. Johnson was absent. Mtn. carried. Time: 7:40 pm
