Report: Elementary School District 159 School District spent $18,573 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Elementary School District 159 was up 16.4 percent from five years ago, according to the South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $15,958 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $18,573 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,875 to 1,825 students over the same period.

Elementary School District 159's spending in 2019-20 was 28.2 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
